The Carnation Revolution.

The Carnation Revolution.
It is very humbly I dare to write a poem about this day.

When the day came
The Portuguese chose not
To fight fire with fire.
Instead,
They rose above it,
Elevated justice,
Portrayed humanity
In a light
That was even stronger
And much higher.

Flower power
Was the weapon of the hour.
Love was the key
To toppling the throne
Of those who held their grip
On a heart of stone.
The bad were not bad,
The good were good,
And Portugal returned
To the way it should.
